Do Guys Care If A Girl Has Pubic Hair?

This is so subjective because it really depends on the guy!

Some guys love a lot of pubic hair, some guys don’t. Some don’t mind it, as long as it’s trimmed and tidy. Some love it when it’s as wild as can be.

Some guys just like pubic hair. Some may find that it turns them on – either the look or the feel of it, or both. There’s a theory that the pheromones that a woman secrets stays longer in her pubic hair so maybe that has something to do with it?

Some guys don’t like pubic hair for a lot of reasons. Maybe they don’t like the look, or the feel. Or maybe they’re not used to seeing it because past partners have removed it or the women in they porn they watch don’t have pubic hair. (This reminds me a lot of the post I did about women being uncomfortable with uncircumcised men).

What I find sometimes when we have conversations about women and their pubic hair, is that we often don’t ask the women what they like.

The majority of women (somewhere in the 80% range) do some kind of upkeep on their pubic hair, whether its trimming, shaving or waxing. Interestingly, the rate of men who are grooming their pubic hair has been increasing.

Some women really do like the results of waxing/shaving/trimming and do it as much for themselves as they do for partners.  How their pubic hair looks and feels might make them feel more confident, and that can have an impact on self-image.

If you’re a woman who’s trying to decide what to do about your pubic hair, think about what you want. If you like waxing/shaving/trimming then go for it! If you don’t care, but your partner likes it a certain way and you don’t mind doing it for them, then great. But if you hate doing that, keep in mind that might be a problem. Whenever we feel like we have to do something for someone, but it’s not what we want to do, it can lead to resentment towards your partner and problems in the relationship.

Also keep in mind that pubic hair does have a function, well two actually. One is that it can help trap bacteria, very much like the hair in our nose. The other thing it can help do is cut down on friction. This can be really important if you’re having sex play where you’re rubbing up against something or someone.

One last thing - this came up at a live session I did a few years ago. One of my guys basically said that if he’s getting some, he really didn’t care what it looked like. Take from that what you will.

Until next, be safe and have fun!
