Why don't I feel anything when I wear a condom?

I’ll be honest, I’m a little concerned if you’re not feeling *anything* with a condom, especially since we’re living in 2021.

The reason I say this is that the condoms that are available today are way thinner than they used to be. Google “thin condoms” and I guarantee that you’ll come up with a number of name brand thinner options.

Here are some things to try out if you’re having sensation issues with condoms:

* Try a different condom. With all the types of condoms that are out there you may find you like one specific brand better, or maybe you want one that has a different shape or texture. There are ones that have either a heating lubricant, a cooling lubricant or both on them. So try different ones and see what feels good for you. Some online companies have variety packs that you can buy that make it easier to try different ones.

And there are other options that can be used with condoms- like adding a vibrating ring.

*Let’s go back to the lube option for a minute. You can always put a few drops of lube inside the condom. That should make things feel better for you.

Here’s what you shouldn’t do:

*Go without a condom without first talking to your partner. People use condoms usually for one of two reasons – to help prevent an unintended pregnancy or to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). To put your partner at risk of either or both of those is NOT okay!

And no guilting them into it either just so you can go condom free. If your partner isn’t okay with not using a condom, or if they’re worried the whole time about either pregnancy or STIs, than that’s not going to be a pleasurable experience for them.

 * If the issue is preventing pregnancy then maybe your partner is willing to look at contraceptive options that she can use. BUT, and this is a really big but, you need to know that female options (with the exception of the female/internal condom) don’t help to reduce the transmission of  STIs.

Here’s the bottom line – condoms are one of the best ways to prevent both pregnancy and STIs. So take a stroll down the condom aisle (either virtually or in person) and see what options are out there. You might be surprised by how many condom options are out there that will help sex feel even better!

I have heard that socks can increase a woman's chance of getting an orgasm, why is that so?
