Is E-Stimulation/ Sounding Safe And Enjoyable?
E-stimulation and/or sounding can be safe-ish and enjoyable. Most people don't report pain, although sounding can be a little bit uncomfortable if you've never done it before.
Before I go deeper into your question, let me explain these terms. They may be new for some people.
Sounding is when something is inserted into the urethra. Yes, the tube you pee through. If you're sitting there thinking, “Doc, that's a really small opening” you're not wrong.
Before I go on, I want to point out that anyone with a urethra can do this. So sounding isn’t limited to men.
If this is something you want to try, I suggest you start with something on the smaller side. But not too small! If it’s too small, it can get lodged in there. And that’s going to require a trip to the ER to get it out.
Like other sex toys, you want to use something body safe. Think steel or medical grade silicone.
And use lube! Water based lube is your best bet. If you can get medical grade water-based lube that would be better.
Make sure to clean it before you insert it. Cleaning after is important too.
Inserting something not clean into the urethra, or using the wrong lube, can lead to a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). UTIs can be incredibly painful. And you’ll need antibiotics in order to treat them.
I’ve heard stories of people sticking random objects into their urethra. While this is a lot more convenient than getting a body-safe object and proper lube, it can also cause serious problems. Everything from tearing tissue to infection.
So you can take steps to make sounding safer, but there is always some risk involved.
Let’s now move on to e-stimulation. This is when you connect electricity to the object that you’re using for sounding.
If this is something you’re interested in, you’re going to want to get something specifically designed for this. No MacGyvering this with household objects!
If you’re unsure if you may want to try e-stimulation in the future, you may want to look at devices designed for that. You can always opt not to use the e-stimulation when you first start.
And if you’re brand new to sounding, using e-stimulation is not really recommended the first few times you do it. You should get familiar with how sounding works and how your body feels when doing it first. Then you can try the e-stimulation part.
Sounding is not usually about pain, though some people may use it for that. For many people, sounding is about a much deeper and intense orgasm than they have from other types of sex play.
And that’s because it’s possible for men to reach their prostate through sounding. The prostate is the p-spot (sometimes referred to as the male g-spot) and stimulating that can cause a very different orgasm.
As good as this all may sound, please keep in mind that doing this with something that is not body safe comes with serious risks.
Doing it with something that’s body safe can still come with risk.
If this is something you think you might want to try, this post should be the first of many things that you read or watch about it. There are many articles and videos out there that have more information about how to do this safely, and I highly suggest you check those out.
Until next time, be safe, and have fun!
