What Stores Sell Female Condoms?
First, let me change the language a little bit. While we used to call them female condoms, we now call them internal condoms.
Internal condoms can be used in the vagina for vaginal sex, but can also be inserted into the anus for protection from STIs during anal sex.
If you want to read a little bit more about internal condoms, check out my article Are Female Condoms Effective And How Do You Use Them?
Internal condoms are not as readily available as external condoms. External condoms you can buy almost anywhere! Pharmacies, convenience stores, I’ve even seen them for sale in bathrooms at bars and gas stations.
Internal condoms are a little harder to get. There’s only one FDA approved internal condom on the market and it’s called FC2. A few years ago the manufacturers of the FC2 moved to have internal condoms available by prescription only.
To answer your question of what stores sell them, the answer is none really, not without a prescription.
How can you get a prescription? You can talk to your current doctor or health care provider, or you can check out the FC2 website. They have information on there about how to get a prescription.
With that said, you may be able to get internal condoms at your local reproductive health clinic or local health center.
Until next time, be safe and have fun!
