Am I Supposed To Be Masturbating?
Short answer – No.
Personally, I think there are very few things you’re “supposed” to do when it comes to sexual activity. Those things include making sure you’re okay with what’s happening, and that your partners are too.
When we ask people about masturbation the majority of people say they do it. Some do it pretty regularly, like multiple times a day. Others may do it only every once in a while.
Some people don’t masturbate at all.
Masturbation can be great for a lot of reasons. It can help you discover what you like during sexual activity. It can help you feel better and sleep better. It can help reduce pain. There’s actually a pretty long list of reasons why masturbation can be good. Check out this post for more on the benefits of masturbation.
For a lot of people it just feels really good.
But none of that matters if you personally don’t want to masturbate.
Some people don’t like it because it’s less enjoyable than sexual activity with a partner. For some people it feels shameful, often because they carry with them a sense of guilt because of what they were raised to believe about masturbation and sexual activity.
Some people just don’t like it, and that’s ok too.
The bottom line is that it’s your body and you get to decide what you do or don’t do with it.
Until next, be safe and have fun!
