Why Does The Doctor Check My Balls And Why Does It Hurt To Get Hit In Them?
Let me start with the doctor part first. Doctors check balls to make sure everything feels okay. They’re looking for lumps or bumps, or any other abnormalities. These could be signs of a hernia, or something called a varicocele. This is when the veins in the scrotum get larger.
Lumps can also be early signs of testicular cancer. While it’s important that the doctor checks your testicles, you should be checking them too. You should be doing a testicular self-exam about once a month (though by all means, feel your nuts whenever you want!)
Testicular cancer has a really high survival rate, and that rate is higher if you detect it early.

Now let’s talk about the second part of the question. Why does it get hurt to get hit in them. I did a post on this a while ago, so I’m going to borrow from myself.
The reason why it hurts to get hit in the balls is because of the number of nerve endings that are there.
The nerves in your balls are shared with the nerves in your stomach, which is why many people say they feel pain in their stomach when they get nailed in the nuts.
In most instances, if you get hit in the nuts, it’ll hurt like hell, and you’re probably going to double over and maybe fall to the ground. Sometimes you’ll also feel nauseous. All of this is normal.
How can you help the pain? You can try an over-the-counter pain medication. Theoretically I’d say ice it the same way you would any injury, but when this idea has come up in my classes, the guys tell me that there’s no way they’re doing that – it would just be too uncomfortable.
But be aware – if the pain lingers for more than an hour then go to the doctor! Same thing for nausea that doesn’t go away. Also, if your balls are bruised it’s a good idea to get them checked out.
