What Would Happen If One Stopped Ejaculating For A Very Long Time?

Physically nothing would really happen that you would notice.

I’m assuming that this is happening by choice, and not that you want to ejaculate and can’t.

If you are female and you don't ejaculate then nothing's going to happen to your body. I wish I could give more information, but it shouldn’t surprise most people that we don’t do a lot of research on female ejaculation.

If you're male and you don't ejaculate, any sperm that's ready to be ejaculated will simply be reabsorbed into your body. Not anything you're going to notice.

The question I would ask back is are you trying to ejaculate and it's not happening? Because if that’s the case, that could be a sign that there is some kind of problem going on. This could be anything from an infection to it being a side effect of a medication you’re taking. It could also not be a problem, but just a physical sign of aging.

If you want to ejaculate and you can’t, you may find yourself feeling really frustrated. That frustration may be directed at yourself, your body, or your partner. Or even the situation you’re in and the world around you. Never underestimate the impact that general life can have on your sex life. If you’re depressed, anxious, stressed about anything from work to your relationship, that can make it harder to ejaculate.

Physically, if you want to ejaculate and can’t, you may get blue balls. This is uncomfortable but will eventually pass. And it won’t cause any kind of long term damage.

There is a condition where it can take a really long time to ejaculate. It’s called delayed ejaculation. This can also include someone not ejaculating at all. If you’re worried about what’s happening, or it’s impacting your relationships, then I would advise you to speak to a health care professional.

Some people choose not to ejaculate. Maybe you’ve heard of No Nut November? Some people find that not ejaculating through masturbation helps to refocus their energy on other things. But that’s not true for all people.

Bottom line, if you’re not ejaculating by choice then nothing will happen to your body. If you’re not ejaculating and you want to, that might be a sign of a problem, and you should probably get it checked out.

Until next time, be safe, and have fun!
