I've Had Loose Balls Before, How Do I Get Them Back? Is There An Exercise?

I'll be honest I'm not sure what you meant by “hanging on.” I'm wondering if you meant hanging low. I'm going to answer the question that way but if I was off base, submit a question again and please be more specific about what you mean.

There are two things that you need to keep in mind here. The first is that ideal sperm production happens at a couple of degrees below body temperature. Now that might not matter to you right now. Maybe you don't ever want to have children. Maybe you're done having children. Maybe children aren’t even something you were thinking about.

But the point is that your body is thinking about it. And so your body is going to adjust where your testicles are hanging to keep them at that ideal sperm production temperature. During the summer they are going to hang a little bit lower than they do in the winter to help with temperature regulation.

The other thing that you need to keep in mind is that your ball sack sagging is actually a natural part of aging. As we age our collagen levels decrease. We know this from the wrinkles we see in our faces, necks, and hands. But it’s not just in those places, it’s our whole body. Including the ball sack, also known as your scrotum.

When it comes to slowing down collagen breakdown, it’s about living a healthy lifestyle. Doing things like eating healthy, exercising, and staying hydrated. If you’re smoking you might want to cut back or quit. Smoking can make collagen break down faster.

If we were talking about skin anywhere else on your body, I’d recommend sunscreen. But I’m guessing your testicles aren’t usually hanging out in the sunlight. So that’s not so helpful here.

Let me ask a quick question. Do your testicles hurt? If so, then pain combined with saggy testicles might be a sign of a problem. And I’d recommend you go see a health care provider.

If there’s no pain, then you might want to try Kegel exercises. These is when you squeeze and release the PC muscles (pubococcygeal). To do this, imagine you’re peeing and then think about squeezing the muscles so that you would stop peeing midstream. Then let go.

But Kegels aren’t a magic cure, and you can do too many of them. If you’re interested in strengthening the PC muscles, or just learning more about them, you might want to talk to a pelvic floor physical therapist near you.

If the sagging testicles are really upsetting you, then surgery might be an option. The surgical option is called scrotoplasty.

But I would really weigh this option carefully. The recovery from it can be a bit painful. The results are not going to last forever. As you age, the scrotum will start sagging again.

And often, the surgery isn’t covered by insurance.

Some last things to keep in mind, the creams and lotions that are out there that claim they can help with this haven’t been proven to work.

I’ve heard some people say that masturbation will help keep your testicles up. While others say masturbation will lead to them becoming droopy. Neither of these are true.

Until next time, be safe, and have fun!
