Will Wearing A Jockstrap Interfere With Nighttime Erections?

Will Wearing A Jockstrap Interfere With Nighttime Erections?

The short answer is that it shouldn’t.

Nighttime erections are normal. And they happen several times during sleep. You may not be aware of how many you’re having while you’re asleep, but you’ve probably noticed when you’ve woken up with one.

Because men get erections in their sleep, it’s important that whatever they’re wearing to bed isn’t too tight. And if the jockstrap you’re wearing prevents you from getting an erection, then it’s too tight!

This doesn’t mean you can’t sleep in one, it means you need one that’s a proper fit.

You want it snug enough to give you the support that you mentioned. And it’s going to feel a bit tighter when you have an erection, and that’s ok. But if it’s so tight that it hurts when you get an erection, or it feels like it’s cutting off blood flow, then that’s not the right one for you.

There’s more variety in the jockstraps that are on the market today compared to 20 years ago. For sleeping, find one that has a pouch made of a breathable fabric. Or one that’s moisture wicking. This may be different than one you’d wear for sports.

The type of fabric is important because you don’t want moisture build up. That can lead to jock itch.

Other concerns about wearing a jockstrap to bed are about basic hygiene. Make sure you’re putting on one that’s clean.

And make sure it’s not causing skin irritation.

So if you like the support you get from them, and they’re not so tight that they’re preventing erections, then there’s no reason why you can’t wear a jockstrap to bed.

Until next time, be safe, and have fun!
