Is Having A Lot Of Sex With A Lot Of Different Partners A Sign Of Childhood Trauma Or Something?

Is Having A Lot Of Sex With A Lot Of Different Partners A Sign Of Childhood Trauma Or Something?

Not necessarily.

Some people just really enjoy sex. So they have it a lot. And with a lot of different people.

Some people may enjoy what they get from sex with a lot of different people. That may be feeling loved, or feeling wanted. It may be that they enjoy the connection they feel during sex.

It could be that they only recently decided to start being sexually active. And now they want to experience everything. Or it could be that they just got out of a relationship and they’re exploring what the world has to offer now that they’re single.

For some people having a lot of sex may be a way of coping with different forms of trauma. And that could include something that happened in their childhood.

Having sex can be a way of getting out of your mind and body for a bit, and so it can feel like an escape. Which may feel helpful when you’re trying to deal with trauma.

But that escape can also be something you just want after a really long stressful day!

One of the ways to figure out if someone might be using sex to cope with trauma is to understand how they react after the sex. If they feel guilty or ashamed, then there may be something going on. If the sex was a way to try to numb themselves, much like we see with alcohol and other drugs, then that could be a sign that they’re trying to cope.

If you’re not asking about you, and you’re worried about someone else’s behavior, then then there’s really no way to know how someone is feeling about their sexual activity. They may not even understand how they feel about it themselves.

If you’re asking about you, then that’s a little different. If you’re having a lot of sex with different people and you’re afraid that this is a result of a trauma that you may (or may not) remember, I would encourage you to think about why you’re having sex with lots of people. Is there a driving factor that you can identify?

I’d also ask you to think about what you’re getting from sex. And how you feel about it afterwards.

And if you think there may be a problem with what you’re doing, even if it’s not related to trauma, you might want to talk with a mental health professional.

But remember, having lots of sex with a lot of different people is not necessarily a sign of trauma!

It could just be that you want to experience all the things, and you enjoy sex, and after you feel tired but good.

Until next time, be safe, and have fun!
