My Friend Told Me That If I Get Kicked In The Nuts To Put Ice Hot On, Is That A Good Idea?
I absolutely would not recommend that you put icy hot on your nuts if you get kicked there. And the reason for this is that putting icy hot on your nuts is going to make it feel like your nuts are burning. I obviously don't have nuts, but I talked to a couple of guys who had gotten icy hot or something similar to that on their nuts by accident, and they said it was one of the most searing, painful experiences they ever had. And the reason for this is that icy hot, and products like that, have things in it like menthol which can be really uncomfortable on delicate skin.
Theoretically you could put an ice pack on your nuts. But when I mentioned it to some guys that I know they said that that sounded worse than just waiting it out. If you do put an ice pack on your nuts make sure not to leave it on for more than 20 minutes. Although you may find 10 minutes to be more tolerable.
What I would recommend you do if you get hit in the nuts is to be aware of what’s happening to them.
It's going to feel like forever until the pain passes, but keep an eye on the clock. If it's been an actual clock hour and the pain has not gotten any better, I would highly suggest you go to see a healthcare professional. That could be the symptom of some serious damage from being hit in the nuts.
It's going to be a couple of days until your nuts feel better, but as long as you don't see bruising, or swelling, or blood in your urine, and the pain actually does get better over time than you will probably be okay. But if you have any doubts go see a healthcare provider.
For the second question, why do we call testicles nuts, I had some ideas but I had never really thought about it that much so I decided to do some internet research. And it took me down some fascinating rabbit holes.
There was path I went down that was tied to the fact that the testicles produce sperm, which could be considered a seed. And since nuts are technically seeds, that’s why we call testicles nuts.
Personally, I think we call testicles nuts because of the size and shape of them. And that seemed to be a favorite theory online. If anyone out there has a more conclusive answer to this please let me know.
Until next time, be safe, and have fun!
