When I Look at Books on Oral Sex I Get Sexually Aroused and Have Sex with Myself. Why is This
It’s because you’re turned on!
People tend to think that they need to view porn, or other sexually explicit media, to get turned on. But sometimes, all it takes is to read about sexual topics. Not all people need some kind of visual to be stimulated.
And once aroused it's normal to masturbate.
I think sometimes people forget just how powerful the brain can be when it comes to sexual arousal. I like to say that it's the primary sexual organ.
If you’re wondering about how powerful the brain can be, let’s do a little thought experiment.
Have you ever gotten really turned on by reliving a past event? Or just by imagining something? Sometimes all someone needs is a fantasy to get them aroused. That’s it. Just our brain getting really turned on.
This is one of the reasons there are so many spicy books on the market.
Has anyone ever sent you a sexually suggestive text? Not an image, just words. Did you get turned on by it?
This is all proof of how powerful our brain can be when it comes to arousal. And once aroused, that can lead to masturbating and/ or sex play with others.
Some people can even orgasm just from fantasy, without touching themselves.
Now on the flip side of things, our brains can also kill our desire for sex and sex play.
I've talked about this in other posts, that if our brain is busy thinking about something else it can make it hard to be present in the moment. And that can lessen our arousal and sexual enjoyment or even prevent it from happening.
That “something else” our brain can be thinking about can be anything from stress at work, to physical or emotional pain, to money issues, to fatigue, to concern about the dumpster fire that the world is.
It can also be about our partner, and how we feel about them.
Let’s go back to that idea of getting a sexually suggestive text from someone. Now imagine it’s from someone you’re mad at. Really mad at. That same text could have a completely different impact on you now because your brain isn’t willing to be turned on. At least not by this person, and not at this moment.
That brain of ours can play a huge role in our sex lives.
So if you're wondering if it's normal for you to get so aroused by reading a book on oral sex that you masturbate, then the answer is yes!
Until next time, be safe, and have fun!
